Summary

Reythkien was the second of two planets in the Cenogh star system.

Reythkien was natively inhabited by people well-suited to the high gravity and heavy atmosphere of the massive world.

Reythkien is believed to have been between two and three Earth masses before its destruction.

Reythkien was invaded and colonized by a theorized species from another galaxy, subjugating the native species and establishing a base of operations for the imperial throne. Reythkien was subsequently destroyed by an artificial intelligence-based security mechanism called The Watcher designed and built exclusively to protect the property of the local governor/overseer who declared himself soverign king of Reythkien in defiance of his imperial leader(s).

Destruction

Reythkien was destroyed when the watcher partially activated its destructive elements to separate and eliminate a rebelious threat to the local governor's authority. Rebels attmpted to subvert the watcher's security protocols by introducing a rogue artifical intelligence into the watcher's network and the Watcher responded decisively.

The resulting destruction left two, roughly equal worlds slowly separating from one another over the next half million years until their mutual gravitational attraction brought them close enough together that the watcher reactivated herself to prepare for a final destruction sequence that would destroy both worlds.

The two worlds resulting from the destruction of Reythkien were Jimmian and Radrolf.
