Summary
Cinthia Ann Faridon is the Lady Anbrond of Craz, Anbrond etz-Etimis etz-ETerhel and the only known, living Amoc-Marée.
Cinthia Ann Faridon was born on Earth, near Watertown, New York on 27 March 2037. She was born the second child of Franklin Eric Faridon and Alice Anna Kmiec Faridon also of Watertown, New York. Cinthia had one sibling, William James Faridon.
Cinthia was educated in Watertown, New York until March of 2053, receiving exceptional academic marks in all subjects but performing poorly in athletic and social pursuits. Cinthia advanced from the eighth grade to her sophmore year of highschool in 2051 at 14 years of age, having completed all course work for her freshman year with very high marks in eighth grade. Her grades did not falter in high school either and when her brother repeated his junior year of high school in 2053, Cinthia was also nominally in her junior year at only 16 years if age. Although technically a Junior, Cinthia was completing coursework most Seniors never achieved when adventure interrupted her life. Had she been homeschooled, it is likely she would have completed her formal High School education before turning 14.
In March of 2053, Cinthia left Earth with her brother and traveled to Jimmian. She insisted she be part of the expedition to Radrolf and became truly vital to its success.
During this expedition, Cinthia met and fell in love with Cegil of Tamin, former captain of the guard at Wytiere.
It was also during this expedition and Cinthia's full immersion in the magical field of Radrolf that she developed rapidly into the only living Amoc-Marée, although her ability and status weren't fully realized until later. During the expedition, Cinthia's abilities were absolutely necessary to its successful conclusion as it became clear they would never have made it through the Gourlong domain much less escape without her still-growing abilities.
In preparation for the expedition, Cinthia took the name Anbrond as a cover. Anbrond is an aristocratic name in Abaos Deneo as is Bagrin. Subsequent to the mission, Cinthia used the moniker of Anbrond almost exclusively as she felt her previous identity had all but disappeared since her development into an Amoc-Marée.
On 17 Mante, 1054AU Cinthia Ann Faridon, Anbrond married Cegil of Tamin in the capital city of Craz.
Some years later, Cinthia was instrumental in removing Largoz from the throne of Tamin, freeing the nation from his rule and installing her brother as Prince Regent of Tamin. This also earned her the eternal hatred of Largoz, though he now knew he would never be a match for her in direct power.
On 13 Alvtyne, 16026, Cinthia gave birth to her only child, Diéz in Altilyr on the shores of the Levon. During the time of her pregnancy, Cinthia/Anbrond was nearly stripped of her power and feared almost constantly for herself and her unborn child. It was a dark episode in her life and one she would never forget. But she loved Diéz all the moreso for the personal pain she endured bringing her into the world. The bond between Cinthia and Diéz was ever strange and powerful and only they ever truly understood the secrets between them.
During the last battles with Korzon, Cinthia was instrumental in defending the Jimmian system, as leaving the system would diminish her power. She was able to defend Jimmian and Radrolf from Korzon incursions but when she travelled with William to Earth her power was greatly reduced though not eliminated.
Appearance
Cinthia stands 5 feet, 2 inches or 158 centimeters tall. She has medium brown hair normally kept just to her shoulders and large Eurasian brown eyes. But her most striking feature is her apparent age. Cinthia stopped physically aging shortly after her arrival in the Cenough star system (Jimmian and Radrolf). Thus she remains an apparent sixteen to seventeen Earth years old, no matter how long she lives. Her actual age is much more difficult to calculate, given her dynamic relationship to time.
Even before she began using The Loop to move backward and forward through time, her existence became difficult to trace temporally. Her ability to speed up and slow down her personal relationship to time means that she could spend hours, days or even weeks of personal existence in just a few seconds, or the opposite, spending only moments of personal time over a much longer external period. Her own best guess, before she began her time travels using The Loop was approximately eighty years of personal existence. When her travels along the loop ended with the recovery of her brother in the early twenty-second century, her own guesses were closer to eight hundred years.
After all that, she still looks almost exactly the same, generally a late human teenager.
Early Life
Cinthia was born on Friday, 27 March, 2037. She was a normal, healthy and otherwise unremarkable child for the first fews years of her life.
When Cinthia started school her accademic performance was generally normal. Socially, she was withdrawn, slow to make friends but not unusually so.
Cinthia's academic achievements dramatically accelerated in seventh grade, about the time she turned 12. Until then, her accademic performance remained unexceptional. In seventh grade however, she began to change physically and mentally, though no one knew about it until much later when her growing mental abilities began to assert themselves.
At about that time she began to know things before they occurred, and she struggled to understand how and why she was different from everyone else. She made even fewer friends now and lost most of those she already had.
Cinthia withdrew socially even more and became noticeably odd at school. Her parents did their very best to pretend everything was normal, and there was nothing particularly odd about her other than her tremendous and wonderful academic achievements.
Still, her frequent vague predictions of curious and often unfortunate events both at home and at school became harder to ignore, though her parents tried all the more to do so. At school, she was openly ridiculed and isolated until she had only one or two school mates who would even speak with her at any given time.
In May of her seventh grade, her first real prediction expressed itself as simple condolences she offered to an acquaintance for the loss of her family dog. Since the dog was still quite alive and healthy at the time, the expression was incongruous and went largely ignored. Later that same day however, the dog, loose from the family yard, was hit by a passing truck when it darted into the road. It wasn't long before news began to circulate about the prescient statements Cinthia had made earlier that day.
Relationship with Her Brother
From the beginning, William had mostly ignored his younger sister. He was not quite two years old when she was born so he never really knew a time before her arrival.
As they grew up, he tended to be protective of her, but privately he enjoyed teasing her, mildly at first, but when she changed things changed between them as well.
William's accademic performance had always been well above average, though not unreasonably so. He routinely out performed his younger sister until she turned twelve, and then things began rapidly to change. When her achievements began to seriously threaten his own, he became more distracted at school. This was also about the time he became more than mildly interested in girls, so it was generally attributed to finding other interests to occupy his mind. He also became more involved in sports, which Cinthia had absolutely no interest in whatsoever.
For her, sports meant competing with other girls, and that meant being close to them. Cinthia's experiences with her female contemporaries were not encouraging and she wanted little to do with them.
William's behavior toward her became more and more aggressively mean, though he drew the line at making her cry. He enjoyed "hassling" her, as he thought of it, but his pleasure ended when he drove her to grief.
His tendency to protect her from the outside world grew ever stronger as she became more and more odd. Those who took bullying too far in school, particularly if they were male, soon found themselves on the losing end of a confrontation with William. Since he was very popular at school, it rarely ended in violence. The threat of being on the wrong side of William socially was often enough to deter. But there were two incidents that demonstrated violence was definitely one of the options available if anyone went too far with his sister.
Otherwise, William left his sister alone and focused on his own life.
