Cegil of Tamin
Summary
Cegil of Tamin was born on 12 Theotyne, 15,991 to Thelanil and B'Zenost in Tel'ych-Ai'lynaghyn, south-west of Wytiere.
Cegil's parents focused him strongly on accademic pursuits from an early age, his father being a librarian for most of his adult life. Cegil's mother was also from a well-off family and she spent many long hours teaching him to read and write.
In 16,007 when Cegil was only 16 (sixteen), his father was killed in a wagon accident. A load of industrial chemicals used in high-quality paper-making collapsed, mortally injuring Thelanil and he died later the same day.
Less than a week later, Cegil enlisted in the Taminen army to support his mother B'Zenost now widowed and almost destitute.
Cegil moved to Wytiere and joined the garrison there. Soon after his arrival he received news that a wealthy nobleman and friend of his father and of his uncle had taken pity on his mother and provided her with a small income to meet her needs. Prince Nyloghyl had been very interested in the Library of Magic and History where Cegil's father and uncle had worked at librarians. When news reached him of the tragedy, he put plans in motion to see to Thelanil's widow.
In 16,015, Cegil's mother died young of a poor heart, leaving Cegil with only his uncle for family at the age of only 24.
Cegil's uncle was named Ai'lazor and he remained in Wytiere after the library closed in 15,990, looking after the packing and storage of the materials. He was swept up with the royal family during the overthrow and executed by Largoz in 16,018 as a threat to the people.
Cegil met and taught Cinthia Ann Faridon all that he could about applying her magical abilities in Kryjhet 16,022. He joined the mission to disable the watcher and stayed with William and Cinthia all the way to the end. Then he left Radrolf and returned to Jimmian with them and was eventually married to Cinthia, The Lady Anbrond on 17 Mante, 1054AU.
On 13 Alvtyne, 16026 Cegil and Cinthia's only child Diéz was born in Altilyer on the shores of the Levon.
