Vezan is the unifying nation over the planet of Jimmian.

Summary

The monarch of the royal house of Vezan represents the pinnacle of political power on the planet. The monarch exercises executive, legislative and judicial powers. All other nations were finally unified under the nation of Vezan on 16 Shenfe of the year 0 with the final capitulation of the Island of Venor.

Founded in the year 1004BU by Ler a warlord of Tolt, defending the boarder between Girv and southern Nilemenaro, Vezan grew quickly to overtake most of the nations around the Colednin Sea within his lifetime.

History

The term Vezan is roughly translated as individual freedom or liberty in an early dialect of Thietían, spoken by Ler and many peoples of the western region of Tolt at the time. The began calling his new nation of followers the Followers of Vezan, rather than the followers of Ler because wanted to put an end to the sort of imperial monarchies of his day. In an odd bit of ironic fate, he ended up creating the very imperial monarchy that would in time come to dominate the entire world.

First World War and Expansion

In the year 670BU, Lordinough I accepted the throne and began the first great push since Deldrenough to expand the kingdom - that is to spread freedom to still oppressed peoples in other countries. His first conquest was almost bloodless when he added Zast to the kingdom. Being across the ocean and a close kin with Tsiun-K'Elan, Lordinough commissioned the sword made that would shape the future of Jimmian for centuries, Enadris ona Vezan, the Dark Fire of Vezan. Carrying this weapon, and with Zast providing pressure from the east, Lordinough brought almost the entire continent under the control of Vezan starting with Tolt, Thiet and Tram, Raptele and Gorba in the south. Finally, when Nelti and Desil collapsed, Lordinough ended his campaigns after almost fifty years of fighting.

That left Menor and Crull on the continent standing against him followed by the island empire of Venor with Pelti and Calani standing firm for the next four hundred years. In 255BU, after a failed attempt by Thiet, and Toli to rebel with Calani influencing them, Menor put down the rebellion and absorbed Calani into the empire. Most of the refugees from Calani escaped to Banti or Venor at that time with their remaining Navy.

Unification

In the year zero, almost nine hundred years after its founding by Lerough, King Bouldrenough I accepted the throne and began the final push to conquer Venor, Pelti and Menor, the last remaining independent countries of Jimmian. Venor was the strongest and largest of the three and held sway over Pelti, even though Pelti was arguably independent. Menor had stayed neutral for the last two centuries after the fall of Calani and Tolt, but Bouldrenough was determined to bring all of Jimmian under a single set of laws.

The second world war of Jimmian lasted almost forty years with Venor holding out the longest. To the modern day, Venor insists they never gave up their sovereignty but agreed only to a political alliance with Craz to put a final end to the bloodshed. And for about the next thirty years, Venor still threatened uprisings from time to time and a certain amount of fighting broke out along the Calani Isles in the year 22AU.

Nonetheless, historians agree that in the year zero, Bouldrenough took off the imperial crown of Vezan and was crowned king of all Jimmian with the Emerald crown of Vezan, which lasted almost four hundred years before being replaced with the Diamond crown of Jimmian in 389AU

End of the Jimmian Monarchy

Although the Vezanese and Jimmian monarchies were the same since unification in year 0, the Jimmian monarchy came to an end in the Jimmian year 1090AU, the monarch of Vezan remains the seat of power for the province of Vezan under the democratic world of Jimmian. The Jimmian constitutional republic recognizes the royal family of Vezan only as the sovereign power over the province of Vezan after 1089AU. Lequ Queen of Jimmian and Vezan was the last Jimmian monarch. Given her mixed Jimmian/Human heritage, there were those in the monarchist factions that felt it better to end the sovereignty of the house of Vezan over all of Jimmian than to allow it to continue in mixed blood, no matter how much esteem the family of William James Faridon held among them.
